The Emerald Coast Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to four students for the 2009-2010 Academic Year.
Applicants must be currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited
college or university in the United States. Applications will be accepted from qualified freshmen,
sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled at the time of application either part
time or full time in an eligible degree program as stated below:

Attention science teachers. The Emerald Coast Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is currently accepting nominations for a chance to win a $1,000 award to use in support of your school's science program. The Chapter is offering one award to a teacher involved with science education at a public or private elementary, middle, and high school in the Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton counties area.
AFCEA is an international, non-profit association composed of professionals from the military, government, industry, and academia. AFCEA works to advance professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence, and global security. The Emerald Coast Chapter serves AFCEA members in the Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, and surrounding communities.
Education is an AFCEA core value and the Association offers the Science Teaching Tools Award annually to support school science programs. The Emerald Coast Chapter is excited to be able to offer this opportunity to a local school. Please submit approximately a 1/2 page of how your school could use the $1,000 award to purchase supplies and/or equipment that would augment your science and/or information technology activities in the classroom. If this applies, you may include information such as experiencing lack of support in receiving funds in this area due to budget restraints, etc.
If your school has received a great influx of economically disadvantaged students, please support how this money could be used to purchase additional equipment and your potential for using the funds as well.
